Ground rules

This list was conceived at the team awayday in March 2018, it can and should be added to when new things arise. It was transcribed from post-it notes

• Maintain general housekeeping (tidy desks, watered plants, no smelly food at desks etc)
• Use recycling bins properly
• Go on more site visits
• Have wider team retros
• Use a meeting room for big/noisy meetings where possible
• Don’t micro manage, do delegate
• Be consistent
• Boardwalks must happen!
• Have Dishoom breakfasts more often
• Go to Barkingside more often
• Practice radical candour
• WFH if you need to, try and WFH or away from the office one day a week
• Be brave
• Attend the important meetings and keep them to a regular schedule
• Be mindful of context
• Assume everyone did everything they could with the best intentions
• Do what you need to do to take care of yourself
• Give new arrivals all the info they need and take time to explain it
• Reach out to our new IS colleageus
• Friday must not be a Dead Zone in the office
• Be bothered, and act early
• Be mindful about noise
• Use headphones for group appear.ins, Slack video etc
• Talk about the elephant in the room
• Call out toxic behaviour
• Topple the patriarchy
• Don’t be a dick.
